Submissions
Rodmell Press publishes books about yoga, Buddhism, and aikido. We will consider unsolicited manuscripts for publishing consideration. Consult our catalog to determine if your proposed book fits into our list.
Guidelines
To submit a publishing proposal, please send the following materials:
1. A one-page cover letter that details:
- the title, subtitle, and one sentence that summarizes your book
- your target audience (be very specific)
- how much of the book is done; how long it will take you to finish it;
and your projected word count
- a list of your enclosures
2. An annotated table of contents, with enough information to show the scope and organization of your book.
3. Two finished chapters and a one-page outline of each of the other chapters. Do not send a complete manuscript.
4. A list of photographs, illustrations, and charts (if there are any).
5. A list of three to five books that are similar to yours. Include titles, subtitles, authors' names, and ISBN numbers, along with your analysis of how your book compares to and differs from each.
6. Your biographical information, including your previous books, articles, videos, and audios; academic degrees and licenses; experience, memberships, and other relevant information that pertain to you as the author of this specific book.
7. We will return your materials only if you include a self-addressed envelope with adequate postage. Rodmell Press is not responsible for lost or damaged materials. Send duplicates of all materials. Do not submit originals, especially artwork.
8. We do not accept e-mail submissions. Address all submissions to:

Include your return address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address.
What happens next? Please allow two months for our response. Sometimes we ask authors to develop their projects further before we can make a decision. Although the proposal process may seem rigorous, we have found that everyone benefits, because it is essential that there is a good fit between the project and Rodmell Press.
